Fly Fisherman Christmas Gift Guide: Loon Outdoors

On this installment of the Christmas list, I’ll share some of my favorite products from Loon. You can find the other gift ideas here. I’ll be sharing my top three favorite items, however, if you’d like a longer list here is the link to my Loon Outdoors Gift Guide. Whether you’re planning on sitting at the vise or heading out on the water, Loon has got something to keep you organized or ready for on or off the water.

Loon Quickdraw Rod Sleeves protecting fly rods

Rod sleeves have kept my rods protected and visible so I always know where they are and they don’t get stepped on or closed in a door.

If you’re shopping for an angler who’s always on the water the Loon Quickdraw Rod sleeves are a perfect gift. It’s easy to be tempted to keep the rod in one piece and throw it in the bed of the truck or in the car. But we all know how expensive rods can get, so here’s the solution. The Quickdraw Rod sleeves are invaluable in protecting rods on the boat, in the car, or when transferring between the two. They allow the angler to keep their rods rigged and ready, saving time on and off the water.

Loon Hitch Pin Scissor Forceps clipped on a raft frame

The hitch pin design is simple and practical, they get clipped anywhere that’s handy.

The new Hitch Pin Scissor Forceps have an innovative new hitch pin design. It allows you to attach the forceps to just about anything. I put mine on my rod holder, the boat box, or neck lanyard effortlessly. Whatever is closest that’s where it gets hitched. These are a great gift because they have dual purposes with scissors that are razor sharp and conveniently located right on the forceps. It’s like two gifts in one!

Loon Tying Mat organizing tying materials

Tying mats are a great way to stay organized and clean.

For the fly tier in your life, the Loon Tying Mat is a great way to keep the desk organized and it is easy to clean up. There are magnetized spaces imbedded in the rubber to keep hooks and shanks from getting scattered or stuck in fingers. The mat is large allowing more than enough space for both the vise to rest and have enough room for all the materials you’ll be using.

There is one more gift idea yet to come, stay tuned!

Cheers,

Allen
